Homemade Laundry Detergent Powder 5 Gallon Bucket. I knew there had to be a better way. It was a recipe much like what i use now, but it was a recipe that you cook on the stove and it turns into a liquid / gel.
Add melted soap, washing soda, and borax. I then used a funnel in the clean plastic gallon jugs to pour the detergent from the bucket to the gallon jugs. Fill the bucket the rest of the way to the top with hot water, stir, cover, and let sit overnight to thicken.
Fill your 5 gallon bucket half full with hot tap water, add melted soap, washing soda, and borax and stir well until all powder is dissolved.
