I used water to test everything and works just fine to chill the boil kettle and cold crash a fermenter to 40f. An insulated bundle of 6 to 12 lines, two or four of which are glycol lines and the rest are reserved for beer. A water chiller can cost a lot of money, but there is a way to lessen the cost, and that is by making a homemade version using a chest freezer. The trunkline runs all the way from your keg cooler to the faucet(s).
